The EchoAlert Mobile Monitor is a system designed as a non-intrusive check-in system for children and loved ones when they are away from home or out of sight. While no system should replace responsible parenting practices, the EchoAlert Mobile Monitor can help.Keep Them Safe
Based on the parameters that you set up, your child or loved one can receive regular text messages to their cell phone. As long as they reply to the message with their own secret code, their response will be logged on our system. If you choose to be notified with every response from your child, you will be notified via voice call, email or text message that your child has responded.
In the event that your loved one has not responded to the prompt message, the system can try again, and will alert you right away if they still do not respond. Using your cell phone or via our website, you can check the current check-in status of your loved one.
Respect Their Privacy
Any safety system for children and loved ones must demonstrate privacy and trust in order to work. The EchoAlert Mobile Monitor has been designed to have children check in discretely. Nobody needs to know they're checking in (they're just checking and replying to a text message), and parents don't need to be constantly calling their children to make sure they're okay. On the other hand parents can know their children are safe by checking their status on the system, and don't need to invade their privacy or interfere when they are doing other things.
This system enables the building of a trusting relationship, and is a great alternative or add-on to location tracking. Location tracking alone invades privacy, and is incapable of picking up on threatening situations, separation of a child from their phone, etc.
These are a few ways you can use the Mobile Monitor service:
Out for the evening
If your loved one is out for the evening, you can have them check in every hour or two, or only start the service when it gets late.
After school/ certain times of day
If your loved one walks home from school alone, or stays late for extracurricular activities, have the system turn on every day at the end of school hours for check-ins and then have the system turn off automatically when you get home from work.
On vacation
Spring break? Going to Europe? Children in an out-of-town sports tournament? EchoAlert's Mobile Monitor can send text messages to most everywhere where there is cell phone service. Have your loved one check in daily to make sure they are okay.
Babysitter
Going out for the evening, and leaving the children with a sitter? Have the babysitter check in every hour or so to ensure that all is well.
Location Services
Some wireless providers or other third parties provide location services which allow you to locate your loved one's cell phone. These services are great, but on their own, do not provide complete security. Knowing the location of a phone does not tell you that the phone is with the person, if they are physically okay or facing some kind of danger. The EchoAlert Mobile Monitor covers these situations, and in the event an alert is issued, can trigger a location alert by working together with these other services.
